Pavé Band
A wedding or eternity band where the entire surface or portion of the band is encrusted with pavé-set diamonds.
Definition
A pavé band is a ring — typically a wedding or anniversary band — where the band surface is covered with small diamonds set using the pavé technique. A full eternity band has diamonds all the way around; a half eternity band has diamonds on the top half only. French pavé, shared prong, and micro-pavé are common style variations that affect how much metal is visible between stones.
Why It Matters for Ring Design
Pavé bands pair beautifully with most solitaire engagement rings and add considerable sparkle. Half eternity bands are more comfortable to wear and more affordable than full eternity bands. Full eternity bands cannot be resized, making precise sizing critical at the time of purchase.
